“My greatest fear is contracting coronavirus at work and bringing it home to my family.” – Amirah, one of the many nurses in our community, shared her biggest fear and greatest hope as a part of our effort to show the reality for many healthcare professionals right now.
Now, we want to hear from more of you! Nurses, be a part of our movement to inspire change across our public health system. Send us a 10 second video via DM with your response to the question below:
What would you say to other nurses on the front-line to help boost their resilience?

Nurses and healthcare workers have demonstrated obvious bravery and limitless compassion while providing care for patients during this pandemic. But, they are vulnerable as humans, too, and NurseFly wanted to find out what scares our community most.
Healthcare workers from the NurseFly community described fears related to being so close to patients receiving aerosolizing procedures, as well as lack of PPE. One of our travel nurses expressed being fearful of watching patients die alone because no family members are allowed into COVID ICUs.
Nurses are known for their commitment to helping others. And it’s no surprise that our nurses focused not on the risk to their own health, but on the fear of bringing COVID-19 home to their families and causing one of them to become ill.
Registered nurses express hope that this pandemic will bring our community together and strengthen the bond within humanity. Healthcare workers are hoping we can learn from the lessons this pandemic is teaching and appreciate what we used to take for granted.
The NurseFly community stands behind our healthcare workers and continues to support them and provide for quick staffing solutions through this evolving crisis.
Biggest Fears:
As a nurse during COVID my biggest fear is one of my family members, friends or coworkers getting sick with COVID.
Contracting Coronavirus at work and bring it home to my family
This virus mutating.
That the numbers will get worse
Just being up and close to that airway and possibly getting something
The number of COVID cases increasing and the lack of PPE for our healthcare workers.
Biggest Hopes:
My biggest hope is that this brings us alltogether as a community.
My biggest hope is that we come together as humanity
After this pandemic is over we will remember all the lesson it taught us and we will be more appreciative of the things we took for granted
